Tributes and Memories
From Jerry Zillion:

I knew David and his family for years.  However when we became officers together I was able to know David on a different level.   He was proud of his heritage although he never flaunted it or spoke of it and he loved the Jamestowne Society.  We talked four or five times a week and discussed many different areas of the Jamestowne Society we would like to see changed. Many of these changes have since been implemented.  The Jamestowne Society owes David many thanks for all of the hard work and thought he put into making the Soiety a dynamic charitable organization.  He was a close dear friend and his passing leaves an empty space in the Society's leadership.  His charm and wit were always refreshing and now he enjoys his new surroundings with other friends in heaven.

God bless old pal.

Members of the Kansas-Missouri Company are very sorry to hear of the passing of former Governor
David Woodroof.

We shall always remember his dedication to the future of the Jamestowne Society.

We send our condolences to his family.

David King Woodroof will be missed by many members and friends of the Society.  He was a devoted member and followed in his father's footsteps (Ambrose Woodroof), which he did quite well.  He was a soft spoken and kind person.  He was a dear friend and will be missed.  The Woodroof spirit will always be held with utmost regard in the Jamestowne Society.  My condolences and prayers  go out to the brother and sister left behind for now.

Blessings to the family at this time of sorrow.

Respectfully,
Carolyn Kendrick Farmer

From Azalia S. Moore:

Mr.Woodroof was instrumental in helping organize the Susan Constant Company of North Mississippi. His dedication to the purposes of the organization and to the commemoration of our ancestors was exemplary. He will be sorely missed as a historian, teacher, and leader. May God bless his family and friends during this period of grief. Azalia S. Moore, Governor, Susan Constant Company, Oxford and Tupelo, MS.

From John Shelton:

David was a fine governor, gentleman, and friend.  I will miss him.
