The speaker was Bill Young, who, in colonial costume as Captain Gabriel Archer, addressed those present as though they were newly arrived English settlers at Jamestowne.  Some of the news he brought was encouraging, but as someone who had survived the starving time on the island, he brought somber and serious comments on what it was like to survive such an ordeal.  Captain Archer's knowledge of the colony brought new perspective to descendants of the early settlers, who greatly enjoyed his presentation.  Young's presentation of Archer is enhanced by the careful detail of his costume, which reflects the fabric and construction of the times.
