Lyndon Hobbs Hart III, the Jamestowne Society Genealogist, graciously agreed to donate his time for a question and answer session. The principal purpose of this session was to give tips to potential applicants and those assisting them with their applications. The introductory remarks and advice helped make the application process clearer. In addition, Mr. Hart provided advice on how to research and what sources are applicable and how to provide proper documentation. Handouts were provided.
The Governor's Dinner - Friday, November 3, 2017
The Fall Governor's Dinner was held at The Commonwealth Club, 401 W Franklin Street, Richmond, Virginia. The Governor's Dinner was open to all Jamestowne Society members and their guests. The cocktail hour began at 6:15 p.m, followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
The three course menu was:
Baby Spinach Salad - caramelized onions, candied pecans, crumbled blue cheese, sherry vinaigrette
Grilled Port Porterhouse with molasses grilled onions, maple and pecan mashed sweet potatoes, and grilled tomatoes
Creme Brulee with seasonal berries

Fall Membership Luncheon - Saturday, November 4, 2017
The Jamestowne Society Fall Membership Meeting and Luncheon was held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at The Commonwealth Club, 401 W Franklin Street, Richmond, Virginia. The Reception began at 11 a.m., followed by the luncheon at twelve noon.
The menu for the luncheon was sliced beef tenderloin medallion with grilled shrimp, scampi risotto, market vegetables, and cabernet jus. The entree was served with salad, house rolls, tea, and coffee. Dessert was warm vanilla bread pudding with chocolate bourbon sauce.
